Amdecon has adopted the Certified Safety and Health (CSHO) Code of Ethics and Conduct for all of our functions.

This code of ethics and conduct outlines the professional standards to be observed by holders of all documents and certificates granted through the Texas Engineering Extension Service’s Professional Development Program. In their professional activities, certificate holders should support and promote the honor, integrity and prestige of the safety and health profession by adhering to these canons.

Certified Safety and Health Officials should be guided in their daily professional activities by the following standards and principles:

1. Honor the responsibility and accountabilityto take appropriate action to protect the safety and health of the people and the environment by performance of professional duties. Exercise moral bravery and uphold the professional obligation of informing employers, employees, the public and appropriate authorities of any imminent dangers or inherent risks through appropriate forums. Issue public statements that are objective, truthful and founded in fact, without sensationalism or alarmism.

2. Adhere to the highest principles of ethical conduct, acting with responsibility and integrity beyond the requirement of laws and codes. Practice honesty, fairness and impartiality in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of all people, acting in a manner respectful of individual ethnicity, national origin, cultural heritage, sexual orientation, gender, age or disability.

3. Act with integrity and render service only in areas of professional competence, education, training or experience. Avoid acts of omission or commission that would falsify or misrepresent your professional or academic qualifications which could place others in peril. Recognize that you may be held liable for your actions, oral or written statements, errors and omissions.

4. Provide due diligence and avoid conflicts of interestin the execution of duties and responsibilities. Practice loyalty by keeping confidential any personal, professional, business information or intellectual property obtained during the exercise of duties, except when required by law or health and safety considerations.

5. Conduct yourself in a manner of selfless service that promotes the respect of safety and health practitioners, including working to advance the safety, health and well-being of one’s community and profession. Seek opportunities to mentor other safety, health and environmental professionals by sharing knowledge and skills.

6. Enhance individual knowledge and competence by participating in continued professional development through additional experience, training and education. Seek additional proof of competencies by obtaining recognized credentials and degrees.
